OnlineAVL – Our baby growing up so fast

Like doting parents, here at Navman Wireless, we're very proud of OnlineAVL. We've seen it grow up from being the 'new kid on the software block' to being at the very forefront of smart fleet management technology.

All of which has happened in a relatively short period of time. In fact if OnlineAVL were actually a child, it would only be a teenager. And like most teenagers, it would be keeping bang up to date with current trends and DEMANDING the latest technology.

And why not? After all, technology ceases to be interesting if it doesn't continue to develop and move with the times. Where would the world be if Microsoft had stopped at Windows 3.1 or if Apple decided that mashing up an iPod and a mobile phone was a stretch too far for the average consumer?

And so it is for Navman Wireless. Vehicle tracking has come a long way from simply being able to identify a vehicle as a dot on a map and OnlineAVL is in the vanguard of innovation.

Technology pervades every facet of life and here in the UK it is universally accessible. With at least as many connected devices as there are people worldwide, wherever you are and whatever you're doing, you are connected.

That means we need to be certain that OnlineAVL is fresh and up to date. As you'd expect, it works on your desktop or laptop and is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play so it works on ipad, iphone and Android devices.

So if your office is actually your van, you can still stay connected with your workforce wherever you are. And with usability at the heart of OnlineAVL, the interface and functionality is just as good on a phone or tablet as it is on a desktop PC, giving you the power to drive time and costs savings wherever you are.

But it's not just about what device it works on, but what else it can do. And once again, OnlineAVL is behaving like the typical teenager by making new friends and expanding its social circle.

We're constantly adding to a list of software integrations to make OnlineAVL more useful to our customers and able to deliver an even greater return on investment. We were up to 83 and counting the last time we checked.

For example integrations with backload exchange services cutting out 'dead mileage' on return journeys for hauliers and couriers. Or being able to monitor refrigerated load temperatures within OnlineAVL keeping you legal and above board in real-time.

And like all parents, we'll never stop taking a keen interest in the next stage of development....watch this space!
