Navman Wireless history

Launched in April 2001, Navman Wireless is the UK's largest provider of vehicle tracking and mobile data
solutions for commercial fleet management. Technological innovation has allowed the company to steal a strong
leadership position within a relatively new marketplace.
The company was the first to use the power of the internet to offer a fixed price GPRS vehicle tracking
system and was the first to combine vehicle tracking technology with satellite navigation in one package.
Furthermore, Navman Wireless was also the first company to roll up leasing, mobile communications airtime
and internet hosting charges into one daily price, making the concept of vehicle tracking more accessible
to a much wider audience and making it much easier to work out a strong cost-benefit business case.
In addition to its UK division, Navman Wireless operates across Australasia, the United States, and has
recently established a presence in Denmark, Spain and Italy.
In 2004, the company was purchased by Brunswick Corporation but it has since returned to private ownership.
Backed by acquisition capital from Chicago-based private investment firm Prairie Capital, Navman Wireless
continues to be run by the successful senior management team that has driven its sustained growth and development.
